Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Board of the Czech Society of Angiology and the organizers, please allow me to invite you to the XXV World Congress of the International Union of Angiology to be held at the beginning of July 2012 in Prague, Czech Republic.

It is an honor that Prague has been chosen to host the Silver Jubilee of the Congress. The International Union of Angiology represents an organization that operates globally and which brings together a broad range of vascular professionals including internists, surgeons, radiologists and other specialists.

Angiology is currently a rapidly developing field. Regular meetings offer a great opportunity to share ideas and gain knowledge of the progress achieved in the area of cardiovascular diseases, which are among the most severe disabilities in the population.

I would like to assure you that the Organizing Committee will work to plan a program that will greatly benefit your daily clinical work. We would be honored if you decided to contribute your own findings and experiences to the high professional level of this scientific program.

We look forward to meeting you and hope that Prague will create a great atmosphere for this conference.

Karel Roztočil
President of the Congress

Dear Friends,

It is a great pleasure and honor to invite you to the XXV World Congress of the International Union of Angiology, which is to be held in Prague. I would also like to offer my congratulations to Prof. Karel Roztocil who is working very hard in the organization of this Congress.

It is a challenge to continue the tradition of scientific study of the IUA with the presentation of sciences and new technologies which contribute to the deepening of the vascular field. The nature and character of this society has produced a new scenario in the 21st century which fosters study in this area, while focusing at the same time on research and training.

I am very pleased to present the World Congress in Prague, organized by President-Elect Prof. Karel Roztocil, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and his team. The scientific program will include a series of lectures, round tables, symposia, analyses of genetic diseases and investigations in stents and new vascular prostheses. It will aim to establish guidelines for treatments and investigations of vascular diseases which, as always, underlines our IUA.

I strongly feel that IUA efforts will trigger the development mentioned above and will promote progress in vascular science, among other interdisciplinary studies by diverse international scientific societies. The commitment to continue the mission of creating new, specialized knowledge among scientists, physicians, regions and countries is another main challenge that we have to undertake.

I believe Prague is a prime city and setting for such an important Congress. The history and culture of this old European city will provide an ideal atmosphere to discuss and update knowledge and, at the same time, deepen friendly and professional relations.

I look forward to welcoming you in Prague.

President of the International Union of Angiology
